Marko Didanović, a young man from Užice, will never forget this Christmas as he saved a little girl from the cold Đetinja river today, as reported by Telegraf.

Marko went fishing with a friend today, as it is a tradition to start something new on this day, not knowing where the day would take him.

The incident occurred between 2 and 3 pm near the city beach in Užice, where he decided to go fishing with his friend.

„I was fishing with my friend Bojan, everything was going well, but at one point I heard something fall into the water. At first, I thought it was a fish, until Bojan noticed a little girl struggling for her life in the water. As soon as he called me and said, ‘Mare, Mare, the girl is drowning,’ without thinking, I rushed towards her, jumped into the river, she was drowning, I just wanted to save her in that moment,“ Marko said.

He managed to save her, even though the waves took her far away, Marko swam through the icy Đetinja river to reach her.

In the video, Marko is seen taking off his wet clothes, and there is a little girl on the stairs, possibly the one he saved.

After the happy ending of this dramatic event, Marko urged all parents to take care of their children and not to leave them alone near dangerous places, such as the river.
