What was supposed to be a cheerful play in the backyard of the family house turned into tears and fear for seven-year-old Angelina S. In front of the family home door, while playing with her younger brother and children from the neighborhood, a stray dog ​​bit her and caused injuries, from which she is still recovering with the love of her family.

„We have three dogs in our street, let’s call them strays, Maza, Mali, and Badi. They are good, the locals feed them and take care of them. They all have ear tags, which is a sign that they are sterilized. However, that new dog suddenly appeared in our neighborhood, no one had seen him before. The day before, he approached Angelina, sniffed the bags she was carrying, and behaved completely normally, but she immediately told me that something didn’t feel right. The next day, while the children were playing, he entered the yard, started growling at the dogs that were there, and then he bit Angelina, who was the closest,“ her mother Divna tells RINA.

She recalls hearing screams in the yard at that moment, and then all five children panicked and ran into the house. The unknown dog bit Angelina on the arm, back, and leg, tearing her shirt.

„She was scared and in shock. We immediately took her to the hospital to have her wounds treated. She couldn’t even speak out of fear. It wasn’t until a few hours later that she came to her senses. Later, we found out that the same dog also bit another boy on the street that day,“ says Divna.

Frightened and outraged by the whole situation, Divna turned to the relevant public companies and local authorities through social media, asking what else needed to happen for the long-standing problem of stray dogs in their municipality to finally be resolved.

„We saw that dog Angelina and I the next day, she cried and was scared. We could barely walk down the street. I can’t even imagine what would have happened if that dog had attacked a younger child than Angelina that day. That’s why a solution to this problem that exists in our city must be found as soon as possible. There are dangerous stray dogs in every street, as we have heard many bite incidents. This is unacceptable and must be resolved as soon as possible,“ concludes Divna, hoping that the authorities will finally hear her appeals before another incident occurs.
