Luka Zlatičanin (45) from Goraždevac, a Serbian enclave in Metohija, was released from custody in Peć this afternoon after his 48-hour police detention ordered by the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Peć expired.

Namely, Zlatičanin was arrested by the so-called Kosovo police on Sunday afternoon because, as the police stated, he „disturbed public peace and order and created interethnic discord“ by singing Serbian songs in a café in Goraždevac a week ago.

The arrest of a Serb from Goraždevac was immediately condemned by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, stating that Zlatičanin’s arrest was aimed at disturbing the remaining Serbs in this Metohija enclave, and that the so-called Kosovo judiciary arrests an innocent Serb instead of seeking and prosecuting the perpetrators of the murders of Serbian children from Goraždevac 21 years ago on the Bistrica River.

In Goraždevac, near Peć, approximately eight hundred Serbs remain isolated and live.
